THE UK has only been in lockdown for a matter of days and, already, we’re seeing businesses folding, professional people panicking and thousands of usually sane human beings bulk buying toilet rolls and pasta!
It’s entirely understandable that people are afraid, anxious, and listening far too readily to Bob and Barbara on Facebook — we’ve never seen anything like this before; it’s like some weird mash up of The Walking Dead and Supermarket Sweep.
Social media channels are full of duff advice and, in the wake of people being told to stay indoors, many in the realms of self-employment are going into panic overdrive. That’s not surprising either — we’re already seeing the entertainment and leisure industries being toppled by inaction and a couple of major brands have also followed in the footsteps of Toys R Us and Woolworths.
